Your adventure begins in the charming village of Sigidi, nestled in a region known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. After a scenic journey, you will arrive at a homestead where you can unwind and immerse yourself in the local way of life. The evening offers a chance to learn about the area’s history and enjoy breathtaking views of the river gorge, setting the tone for the adventures ahead.

Next, you will head to the serene coastal area of Mbotyi, where pristine beaches and tranquil ocean views await. This is a perfect spot to relax and soak in the natural beauty. The journey continues to the lush and vibrant region of Magwa/Lusikisiki, famous for its spectacular waterfalls and dense forests. Here, you will explore multiple waterfalls, enjoy scenic drives through the forest, and embrace local village life. The final leg of your trip takes you to the picturesque Msikaba River Mouth, where you can bathe in the lagoon, explore enchanting gardens, and delve into the region’s history. The tour concludes with a return to Sigidi, for a chance to reflect on your epic journey before heading back to Durban.

Itinerary

Day 1: Sigidi
Your journey begins in Sigidi, where you will spend the first night at a local homestay. After a shuttle ride to Wild Coast Sun Casino, which takes about three to four hours, you will either be picked up by a 4×4 vehicle or take a short hike over the bridge to the homestead. Upon arrival, you will have time to relax and unwind. The evening includes an introductory talk about the region’s history and upcoming adventures, followed by sundowners at the gorge overlooking the river, weather permitting. You will end the day with an authentic local dinner in-house.

Day 2: Mbotyi
On the second day, you will transfer to Mbotyi. The drive takes about four hours with a 4×4 after breakfast. This day is all about relaxation, relishing in empty beaches and gorgeous ocean views, and having a free day for beach relaxation and unwinding.

Day 3 and 4: Magwa/Lusikisiki
On the third day, you will embark on a Five Waterfalls Tour starting at 10 am at Fraser Falls. This guided adventure includes visits to Fraser Falls, Angel Falls, and the east side of Magwa Falls. You will have a leisurely lunch, swim, and shower at Massage Falls, followed by a gentle drive through Goso Forest to Gwexintaba Village. The day concludes with visits to more viewpoints of the west side of Magwa Falls and chilling at a small seasonal waterfall back at your accommodation, ending with a South African braai (a local form of barbeque) for dinner.

Day 4 starts with an optional guided breath pleasure meditation at 7 am, followed by breakfast. At 10 am, you will take a two hour easy village and forest hike to a pristine stream in Goso Forest. After lunch, you will have an off-grid garden tour at 3 pm, before concluding the day with another delicious braai dinner. There is also an optional activity to stitch a bespoke leather hat, pouch, handbag, or man bag, the perfect gift or keepsake from your incredible adventure.

Day 5 and 6: Msikaba River Mouth
Activities include bathing in the river, exploring the magical house and garden, relaxing in the playroom with games and fun, and immersing yourself in the rich history of the region.

Day 7: Sigidi
Transfer back to Sigidi for a night at a local homestay, allowing time for decompression and reflections on the trip.

Day 8: departure
Shuttle back to Durban Airport for your departure.
