Itinerary

Day 1: Malealea
Upon arrival at Bloemfontein Airport in South Africa, you will be picked up and cross the border into Lesotho, heading toward Malealea. After checking in and freshening up, you will gather for a welcome braai (a local form of barbeque) dinner at 7pm.

Day 2: Malealea
Start your day with breakfast at the lodge. For those interested, there’s an optional horse ride adventure through the mountainous surrounds. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the area or relaxing at the lodge, with food available at the bar at your own expense. Dinner will be served at 7pm.

Day 3: Semonkong
After breakfast at the lodge, you will head out for Semonkong, enjoying some jaw dropping scenery along the way. Upon arrival, you will check in and meet for dinner at 7pm.

Day 4: Semonkong
Begin the day with breakfast at the lodge, followed by an abseiling lesson on a small ridge. You will have leisure time, with an optional abseiling adventure down the 192-meter Maletsunyane Falls! Otherwise, watch the brave abseilers from a viewpoint. Dinner will be at 7pm.

Day 5: Village Experience
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before choosing between a horse trail or a guided walk through the Semonkong area. Later, you will drive to the village, where you will participate in a welcome ceremony including the sacred handing-over of blankets ceremony. Dinner will be at 7pm, and you’ll be spending the next few nights in a cozy hut in the village.

Day 6: Village Experience
After breakfast at the main house, you will go on a guided walk around the village to learn about village life. You will visit the local primary school to meet the village kids, then go on a guided hike to one of the historic caves hidden in the area. Dinner will be at the main house, and you will stay overnight in the village.

Day 7: Ramabanta Trading Post
Start the day with breakfast at the main house before saying farewell to the village and heading to another lodge closer to Maseru. You will stay at a lovely guest house that was once an old trading post and explore the area on foot. Dinner will be at 7pm.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast at the lodge, you will cross the border back into South Africa and be dropped off at Bloemfontein Airport.
