Itinerary
Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park & Afternoon Game Drive
This Kruger National Park safari departs daily from Johannesburg, OR Tambo International Airport. You need to be at the OR Tambo shuttle terminal by 06:30 AM. We will send you full instructions when you book your safari. The shuttle departs no later than 07:00 AM. Kindly note that a later departure time can be accommodated upon request.
You will travel East, passing scenic landscapes and farmlands en route to our lodge near Kruger National Park. There will be some comfort stops along the way, where you can buy snacks and refreshments and visit restrooms. Upon arriving in Nelspruit (Mbombela), there will be a change-over to a different vehicle transporting you to our lodge, about an hour’s drive away.
Expected time of arrival in Hazyview is around 12:30 PM. You will be checked-in by our friendly reception staff and shown to your accommodation. After check-in, you will have time to relax and freshen up before boarding an open-sided 4×4 game drive vehicle for an exciting afternoon game drive in Kruger National Park.
The lodge is about 15 – 20 minutes’ drive from the Phabeni Kruger Gate. After your safari game drive, you return to the lodge where you can unwind, have drinks on the deck at the bar, and relax before dinner served at 19:00 PM in the restaurant area.

Day 2: Kruger National Park – Full Day Game Drive
This morning you need to wake up early and prepare for a full day of bush exploration. Your morning starts with a welcoming morning coffee/tea and rusks before boarding the safari vehicle for a full day of game viewing (approx. 8 hours in duration) in the Kruger National Park.
You will enter the park through Phabeni Gate – one of the best routes for wildlife sightings en route to Skukuza (Kruger National Park’s largest camp). A packed breakfast is included and will be served at a safe picnic area. The Skukuza area of Kruger National Park is rich in wildlife, and the elevated height of the 4×4 open-sided vehicle makes for excellent viewing and photographic opportunities. Sickle bush, Tamboti, Marula, Leadwood, and Red Bush Willow trees paint your landscape rich with avifauna.
You will enjoy lunch at one of the park’s restaurants (for your own account). After lunch, we embark on your final afternoon game drive in the Kruger National Park.
We will arrive back at the lodge around 15:00 PM, after which you will have some free time to relax and freshen up before joining us for dinner at the main restaurant at about 19:00 PM. You can retreat to your room afterwards or relax on the deck at the bar a while longer before retiring to bed.

Day 3: Full Day Panorama Route Tour
Today you will go on a tour of the Panorama Route. (Note: You can swap this out for another full day game drive in Kruger National Park at no additional cost. Please just let reception know the afternoon before.)
We start off with a scrumptious full breakfast at the lodge at 07:00 AM. Thereafter, around 08:00 AM, you will be collected from the reception area. This full-day excursion will be about 8 hours in duration. Be sure to dress in comfortable clothes and shoes as there will be some walking involved.

Please note that for your own safety, some of these attractions might not be visited should adverse weather conditions come into play. We will stop for lunch at about 12:00 PM at a local eatery. Please note that lunch will be for your own account. After lunch, we will continue our Panorama Route excursion and return to camp by about 16:00 PM.
You will have some free time to relax and freshen up before joining us for dinner at the main restaurant served at 19:00 PM. You can retreat to your room afterwards or relax on the deck at the bar a while longer before going to bed.

Day 4: Kruger National Park – Full Day Game Drive
This morning, you will rise early and prepare for another full day of bush exploration in the Kruger National Park (approx. 8 hours in total). A warm coffee/tea and rusks will kick start your day before departing the lodge to Phabeni Gate. A packed breakfast will be served along the way for you to enjoy as your guide searches for captivating wildlife sightings.
Approaching lunch hour, your guide will bring you to one of the Park’s rest camps to take advantage of a leg stretch and an opportunity to enjoy lunch at the restaurant (for your own account). After lunch, we start the afternoon game drive in the Kruger National Park. These afternoon excursions present several advantages, including the tendency of wildlife to congregate at waterholes and increased animal activity as the day gradually cools.
Upon our return to the lodge around 15:00 PM, you’ll have the opportunity to unwind and rejuvenate at your leisure. Later, we invite you to join us for dinner at the main restaurant at approximately 19:00 PM. You can retreat to your room afterwards or relax on the deck at the bar a while longer before going to bed.

Day 5: Return to Johannesburg (Optional Morning Game Drive)
This is the last day of your African Kruger budget safari. This morning you have a choice between another morning game drive or relaxing at the lodge and enjoying the great facilities it offers. Should you choose to stay at the lodge, you can enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast at the restaurant. If you join us on the morning safari, a picnic-style breakfast will be served at one of the picnic spots in the park.
Optional Morning Game Drive: Approximately ZAR 1150.00 per person
The morning game drive is entirely optional and for your own account (payable at the lodge). It is a great way to spend your last morning on tour if you feel the need to see wild animals one last time.
You will be picked up at the Lodge’s reception area around 11:30 AM for your transfer to Perry’s Bridge with expected arrival time at 12:30 PM. Thereafter, you will depart on your final transfer to OR Tambo Airport (Johannesburg) with an expected arrival time around 17:30 PM. Kindly note that there will be comfort stops scheduled along the way, providing opportunities to utilize restrooms, stretch your legs, or acquire travel snacks from convenience stores.
Important: Should you book a ight from OR Tambo International Airport, please adhere to
the below:
1. For international flights (anywhere outside of South Africa) please do not book a flight for earlier than 21:00 PM to allow enough time for airport procedures.
2. For local flights (any destination inside of South Africa) please do not book a flight for earlier
than 19:30 PM to allow enough time for airport procedures.
